Will the soccer world change? World's richest man takes over Liverpool, but is "interested in my grandmother's hometown team."

Will the world's soccer scene change again.

Elon Musk, the world's richest and eccentric, is considering entering the soccer world. Weekend Sports reported on the 7th (Korea time) that "Musk has decided to buy Liverpool for £6 billion." 안전놀이터

As it is known, Musk is the richest person in the world. Musk, the CEO of electric vehicle company Tesla, aerospace company SpaceX, and SNS platform X, is worth 339.3 billion pounds, which amounts to 617 trillion pounds in our money. He also intervened in the recent U.S. presidential election, helping Donald Trump win and growing his influence.

Musk, who has shown interest in various fields through X, is naturally interested in sports. At the last Paris Olympics, Kim Ye-ji of shooting was spotlighted and made a star. In 2022, he also mentioned the acquisition of Manchester United through X. It is because of his relationship with Liverpool that Musk, who did not run a sports group, could acquire Liverpool.

Musk's grandmother, Cora Robinson, was born on Mosley Hill near Liverpool, and Musk reportedly visited Merseyside with his father in the 1970s. Musk, who wants to expand his influence in the U.K., reportedly decided to use soccer and chose Liverpool, where he has a relationship.

Musk's father, Errol, appeared on "Times Radio" and responded positively to Musk's possible acquisition of Liverpool. Asked if his son wants to buy Liverpool, he said, "I can't comment on that. It's because I can raise the price," and then laughed, "It's true that Elon expressed his intention, but I don't mean to buy it."

"Elon will definitely want to buy Liverpool. Everybody does. I'm the same," he said. "Elon's grandmother was born in Liverpool, and our relatives are in Liverpool. We were lucky to know some of the Beatles members. So we're attached to Liverpool."

Currently, Liverpool is owned by Fenway Sports Group (FSG), which owns the Boston Red Sox in the U.S. Major League Baseball and the Pittsburgh Penguins in the North American Ice Hockey League. It acquired Liverpool in 2010 and led Liverpool fans to win the English Premier League, which they longed for. FSG is sometimes criticized by fans for being overly cautious, but it has helped Liverpool open a new golden era. He has been leading the league this season as well and is close to winning the title.

Fans are excited about the possibility of Musk's acquisition but are showing caution. As Musk has been such a nerd so far, many people are curious about what he will look like in soccer. What is certain is that there is a high possibility of an all-time investment. If Musk decides to do so, the entire soccer market can change.

FSG has kept the possibility of a sale closed, but never in football. Of course, everything depends on Musk's intention. If he decides to buy Liverpool, the acquisition price is simply 'gum price'.
